Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. As a young girl, she moved from London to Oxfordshire where she attended The Dragon School. When she was six years old, Emma knew she would like to be an actress and for many years she trained at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school in which she was taught singing dancing and acting. From the age of 10 she was involved and performed the main role in several Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Casting began in 1999 to cast Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Casting agents discovered Emma by way of her Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been selected for the characters. The cast included Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's debut film appearance came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It also was one of the top-rated films during 2001. The opening weekday and weekend sales were record-breaking. The critics were impressed by the film and its performance. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her outstanding performance. Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the leading young actress in an feature Film. Emma was recognized five times in recognition of her part in the film.
